alt^I has partnered with Dublin City University and Cambridge University Press to create the Global Grid for Learning.
The Global Grid for Learning will connect a billion digital resources to education in the next ten years. Globalgridforlearning.org will support the education community in the creation of open education content and professional development as well as facilitate the sharing of resources within the education community. Registered users of globalgridforlearning.org can upload and download education resources for free, typically under an open content or Creative Commons license. In addition, GGFL will establish collaborations between educators and schools worldwide with the goal of jointly developing open education resources. The GGFL Capacity Building Program will provide free online training opportunities for teachers, education publishers and authors to develop their content creation and usage skills.
Content partners in the Global Grid for Learning Consortium include the Arab Grid for Learning, Obeikan Research and Development and the Irish Computing Society.
